Brian Peckford is a former Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador (conservative, 1979-89), and also one of the architects of the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. He writes a strongly worded message against the violation of the Charter by the current “leaders” of Canada (below).
I would ask, who are these politicians really working for? The Canadian people or the Chinese Communist Party and Big Pharma? They have made a Faustian deal with the devil for their political careers. In that parable, there is a price to pay: one’s soul. But as Jesus said “what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?”
Trudeau and those politicians who have sided against the Charter and the Canadian people and are implicated in imposing medical tyranny may have ensured their careers, but they have sold their souls and will eventually stand before God (as we all will) and have to answer for their sins. Is the temporary boost to their career really worth it?
Where is their integrity? Where is the rule of law and voice of conscience as we slide into being a satellite of Communist China Censorship, medical segregation, violating the Charter, destroying people’s lives — where does it end?
I recently attended a church service where the pastor spoke about the need to save Canada and there would be a revival of faith in response to all this. I sincerely hope so. He advised not listening to the news and reading the Bible instead.
I would argue that traditional faith is an antidote to medical tyranny. We have lost our way as a nation precisely because we abandoned Judeo-Christian values and also Enlightenment values in favour of a collectivist mentality.
(Yes, I know that over the last 300 years, traditional Christianity and the Enlightenment have been at odds, but in the face of collectivism, which would negate both, they make strange bedfellows, and it’s worth considering that during the 17th and 18th century Enlightenment there was considerable overlap in the UK and USA among Anglican and Episcopalian rationalists, which included some of the founding fathers, who understood that faith can be understood through reason, via Natural Law, and on the basis of which a Republic of rational individuals with inalienable rights can be founded – and this is also the philosophical foundation of the Canadian Charter).
Vaccine passports are a variation of the CCP social credit system. In a nation that honours freedom of religion and speech and individual rights, such a thing would never be considered.
We need to re-discover who we are by going back to our roots. Trudeau and those who are doing all this want us to be destabilized, demoralized, lost, fearful and confused, in order that we will embrace their vision. This is also why Trudeau is antagonistic to traditional faith and why China has outlawed religion altogether.
The people of Canada need to realize that their Governments are violating our Constitution —-The Charter Of Rights and Freedoms of the Constitution Act of 1982.
Let’s just take one example in the Province of BC . The Provincial Government has ‘ordered ‘ the people of Northern BC to not conduct worship services . CBC , our Government supported National Broadcaster , says that the Government of BC are ordering :
‘Worship services are being limited to virtual services. Single-person services where people can have quiet reflection alone are permitted.’
Here is the actual health order from BC Northern Health :
‘Worship services: virtual services are required.’
The Charter says in Section 2 that everyone has the
- c)freedom of peaceful assembly; and
- (d)freedom of association.
The Charter says in Section 7 that everyone has the right
