America’s political prisoners

There are dozens of corrupt third-world countries that have political prisoners rotting in cells, being tortured with impunity by evil men. This is nothing new or shocking. We know about it from Amnesty International and human rights NGOs. I would be remiss if I did not also mention the many Christians wrongfully imprisoned as well, persecuted for their faith.

But what’s shocking is for it to happen in the United States, a country founded on egalitarian principles and known for freedom of speech, due process under the law, the sovereignty of the individual, and its democratic tradition. Are these principles and ideals still adhered to? Tragically, no.

Amnesty International defines a political prisoner as “any prisoner whose case has a significant political element: whether the motivation of the prisoner’s acts, the acts in themselves, or the motivation of the authorities.” “Political” in this case refers to “the mechanisms of society and civil order, the principles, organization, or conduct of government or public affairs.”

By that standard, the Jan. 6 prisoners are definitely political prisoners. They were there to protest (most of them nonviolently) the alleged election fraud of Nov. 20, 2020, and numerous other abuses by the Democrat Party. The Jan. 6 prisoners are thus prisoners of conscience, imprisoned by a police state unjustly.

Initially, there were 675 people arrested in connection with Jan. 6. Newsweek reports that 120 individuals pleaded guilty to a variety of federal charges, from misdemeanors to felony obstruction. A few are still in prison.

What has happened to the “land of the free”? The fault lies with the corruption of the Democrat Party, which is working in collusion with the CCP to ruin America.

'Political prisoners': formed to ...
Some of America’s Jan. 6 political prisoners

Headlines last week told us that “the QAnon shaman” (Jacob Chansley) is sentenced to 41 months in jail (almost 3 and half years!) for his role on Jan. 6. What did he do exactly? Did he personally take part in any particular act of violence? No. He entered the capital building dressed in a costume and had his photo taken.

Chansley said, in his defense, ” I am in no way, shape or form a dangerous criminal. I am not a violent man. I am not an insurrectionist. I am certainly not a domestic terrorist. I am a good man who broke the law.”

The judge who sentenced him said, “You made yourself the epitome of the riot. What you did here was actually obstruct the functioning of the whole government. It’s such a serious crime.” That judgment is utterly ridiculous. The riot did not “obstruct the whole government” but it was certainly used by the Democrats to demonize Trump supporters and even Trump himself (giving the basis for their 2nd attempt to impeach him).

The deaths associated with Jan. 6 were due to others, not Chansley. In fact, not one death stemming from Jan. 6 can be laid directly at the feet of protestors:

“Democrats have framed the Capitol protests of January 6 as a “deadly insurrection” because they say 5 people died. Three of those deaths were from medical emergencies unrelated to rioting and didn’t occur in the Capitol Building. Capitol Police officer Brian Sicknick was said to have been beaten to death by protesters, but that has turned out to be a lie. That just leaves Air Force vet Ashli Babbitt, who was unarmed when she was shot by a Capitol Police officer.” Here is my article on her.

Four alleged suicides of police officers are associated with Jan. 6, which has led to speculation that they were murders by deep state operatives, then framed as suicides. According to one calculation, police “present at the Capitol on January 6th are over 73 times more likely to die by suicide than other law enforcement officers.” That seems very odd.

From the outset, Jan. 6 seemed off. FBI informants, media collusion, fake suicides, the use of the event to demonize 75 million people as potential terrorists. It seems consistent with the Democrats’ pattern of trying to destroy the USA from within. If anyone is guilty of insurrection, it is the people who organized the Jan. 6 arrests and biased media coverage, and who turned it into a propaganda tool.

The Jan. 6 prisoners may be guilty of a misdemeanor for trespassing, but that’s all. In a fair trial, the role of the FBI, as agent provocateurs, should have been enough to dismiss all charges against protestors. But federal prosecutors were heavy-handed and sought maximum penalties. Democrat-friendly judges seeking political favor obliged.

As a result, the Jan. 6 trials were little more than political show trials, meant to reinforce the power of the Democrats and paint Trump supporters in a bad light, and to justify scapegoating 75 million people. What the Democrats have done is supremely un-Democratic. They are the true insurrectionists.

The Dept. of Homeland Security listed potential terror threats very broadly as anyone opposed to Covid measures or who had a belief that that the U.S. election was stolen. That describes millions of Americans — and me as well.

The fact that the charges of election fraud were censored and uniformly dismissed doesn’t make them false; it only means that Democrats worked closely with the MSM and social media to push their version of events as accurate and suppress the rest. The fact that they tried so hard to do this strikes me as highly suspicious.

Here is my article on the Arizona audit, which the MSM lied about, and which revealed something was amiss.

Meanwhile, the perpetrators of the 2020 riots, who burned down businesses and a federal building, and committed assault for about 100 days have been let off after Democrat-influenced prosecutors refused to do their jobs.

The hypocrisy of this blatant double-standard is satirized in the following by the Babylon Bee:

Buffalo Guy Wishing He Had Just Burned Down A Car Dealership In Kenosha Instead

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Jacob Chansley, also known as the “QAnon Shaman”, or “Buffalo Hat Guy”, has been sentenced to 41 months in prison. According to sources, he expressed his regret that he didn’t do something more peaceful, like burning down a car dealership in Kenosha.

Other satires by the Babylon Bee:

January 6th Rioter Found Innocent After Discovery He Just Torched A Small Business Across The Street

‘I Thought I Was Going To Die’, Says Capitol Police Officer Who Held Door Open For Protestors On Jan. 6

Hysterical Huffington Post Claims January 6 Riot Was “1000 Percent Worse” Than 9/11 Attacks

Sanctioned by the Democrats, mobs burned down neighborhoods and toppled historical statues with impunity. Patriotic citizens were falsely labeled as “insurrectionists.”

After half a year the FBI finally admitted there was no organized plot of this kind. It was just a protest that got out of hand, in part due to the FBI’s own actions.

Election fraud and media collusion with it is now part of the American experience, as in third-world countries.

There is unconstitutional segregation and dehumanization of the unvaccinated, which has no medical value and from a moral standpoint. But it has political value for Democrats.

There are violations of freedom of religion and the treatment of churches that one might expect to find in a Communist nation. There are corrupt judges and politicians, censorship and propaganda.

There is deliberate amplification of racial divisions for political gain, and scapegoating minority groups as “domestic terrorists.”

And now there are political prisoners.

Below are several articles on the meaning of Jan. 6 and the condition of the prisoners.

The political prisoners of January 6

by Andrea Widburg, American Thinker, Oct. 31, 2021

In 2020, BLM, Antifa, and opportunists rampaged through American cities, looting, burning, and assaulting and even murdering people. Leftists, including most major American corporations, contributed millions of dollars to various BLM funds, including funds to release those few who were arrested from prison. Most suffered minimal to no consequences.

Meanwhile, nine months after the riot on January 6—which Tucker Carlson seems poised to expose once and for all as a false-flag operation—Americans who accepted the Capitol Police’s invitation to enter the Capitol are quite literally being tortured in prison.

The Conservative Treehouse has published a letter from Nathan DeGrave (originally in Brad Geyer’s Twitter thread relaying what DeGrave told him). DeGrave describes himself as “a nonviolent participant at the Jan 6th rally.”

The contents are stomach-churning. The psychological abuse, physical neglect, and denial of legal rights grossly violate the 8th Amendment’s promise that no Americans shall be subject to “cruel and unusual punishment”—something especially applicable here because none of the people being treated this way have been convicted.

The January 6 prisoners have also been denied their 6th Amendment right to a speedy trial. Given the D.C. forum, they’re likely, as well, to be denied the 6th Amendment’s guarantee of an impartial jury. Instead, they’ve been imprisoned for nine months without trial or bail, almost all for non-violent offenses.

DeGrave describes in some detail the following abuses:

  • For the first four months, 23-24 hours a day solitary confinement.
  • Arbitrary, capricious, and constant punishment for minor, random infractions.
  • Even in solitary, being required to wear masks constantly, with any deviation the subject of a disciplinary report
  • Confiscation of privileged, legal documents as well as chronic and significant interference with the attorney-client relationship. Note that this is one of the most privileged relationships under American law.
  • Medical neglect, including refusing treatment for Christopher Worrell, who has both cancer and a broken hand. (Finally, two weeks ago, federal judge Royce Lamberth filed contempt charges against the prison warden for this one.)
  • Health hazards include overflowing raw sewage, mold, and dirty water.
  • Malnutrition from inedible and marginal food.
  • Denial of access to personal hygiene.
  • Minimal visits, including preventing access to attorneys unless the latter are both vaccinated and tested. (This may explain why the January 6 defendants seem to have been getting such abysmal legal representation.)
  • Denial of access to religious services, classes, and activities, all of which are available to non-political prisoners. When Ryan Samsel attempted to organize a Bible study group, correctional officers (mostly leftists from Africa) beat him and left him for dead. He permanently lost vision in one eye and suffered brain damage.
  • As the only White Republicans in the jail, the men are subject to a constant barrage of racial abuse.

Please note, too, that the above is a summary. You need to read DeGrave’s letter in its entirety to appreciate fully just what the D.C. prison system is doing to the January 6 prisoners in its care. If what you read sounds familiar, it’s because you’ve read similar things about prisons in the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, and other totalitarian countries that, lacking a Constitution, routinely imprison and torture people for their political viewpoints.

The D.C. prison system gets away with this because it knows that no jury in D.C. will ever convict the system or the individuals in the system for these acts. They also know that, as long as Merrick Garland is focused on going after parents opposed to Critical Race Theory, transgender madness, and forced masking, and the administration is preparing to give illegal aliens $450,000 because they were treated in accordance with American law, the Department of Injustice will leave them alone.

It is truly shocking that, using COVID and a gamed election, Democrats have managed in nine months to bring America crashing down. They’ve destroyed the economy, opened the borders, weakened the military, unleashed rampant racism, put sexual perversion in America’s schools, kept ordinary Americans under house arrest, and made our prisons the functional equivalents of the finest that totalitarian countries have to offer. In nine months! The mind boggles at what can happen between now and elections in November 2022.

Was the Capitol storming America’s Reichstag fire?

by Robert Arvay, American Thinker, Jan. 9, 2021

Jan. 6, 2021, was American’s Reichstag fire, an false flag event, in which the FBI deliberately set up Trump supporters in order to arrest them and ruin their lives and to label anyone who attended as “domestic terrorists” and “insurrectionists.”

“The FBI admitted on Friday to The New York Times that they had informants and operatives inside groups attending the January 6 rallies in Washington DC. The FBI finally admitted they infiltrated the Jan. 6 rallies with informants.  In fact, one of the first “protesters” inside the US Capitol was an FBI informant . . .

“In the FBI confession, the agency admits to one informant with the in the Jan. 6 “assault on democracy” . . . several FBI operatives infiltrated the crowd and led the assault on the US Capitol. As scores of Proud Boys made their way, chanting and shouting, toward the Capitol on Jan. 6, one member was busy texting a real-time account of the march. The recipient was his FBI handler.

“In the middle of an unfolding melee, the FBI had an informant in the crowd, providing an inside glimpse of the action, according to confidential records obtained by The New York Times.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene details the torture that Jan. 6 prisoners are suffering under the Biden regime

by Clayton Keirns, Trending Politics, Nov. 5, 2021

On Friday, GOP House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted about her visit to the DC jail. What she reported was nothing short of devastating.

During a 6-tweet thread, MTG said she had “never seen human suffering” like this in her life. The Biden regime apparently loves punishing their political prisoners. The Georgia rep went on to say that she and her staff are working on a full report to detail the horror that these patriots are suffering through.

“Last night we toured the DC jail. My staff and I are writing a full report this morning on our 3+ hour-long tour. I’ve never seen human suffering like I witnessed last night. While some were shown to us in seemingly beneficial programs, others were in tortuous lockdown,” she tweeted.

“Some inmates were receiving continuing education classes, others were truly suffering from long stays in solitary confinement for “bad behavior.” I’ll never forget hearing their screams. This was in a different part of the jail, not the J6 part. Being alone surely is hell,” she added in another tweet.

MTG then said the jail staff tried to block her from seeing the January 6th prisoners, but she made sure she didn’t leave that jail without paying the Patriots a visit.

TORTURE: Jan. 6 Inmates Endure Worse Abuse Than Gitmo — Brutally Beaten, Stripped, Hogtied, Humiliated By Guards, One Prisoner Blinded In One Eye

Tea Party report

Not only is there political persecution going on in America in the wake of the Jan. 6 ordeal that Democrats have insisted was an attempted “insurrection,” but those that have been hunted down by the FBI and charged with crimes are being held captive and tortured.

The Gateway Pundireported on a man named Ryan Samsel who “was leading the charge against Capitol Hill Police” that day. Samsel reportedly pushed over bike racks, stormed the Capitol, and allegedly injured a female officer.

Samsel was arrested and during his incarceration in a Washington DC prison, he was brutally beaten by guards which resulted in the loss of one of his eyes.

There was not an isolated incident. Many other reports of abuse and torture have come to light in the months since Jan. 6.

On Thursday night, attorney Joseph McBride appeared on Newsmax and talked to host Greg Kelly about the ongoing abuse and torture of the Jan. 6 political prisoners in DC.

McBride told Kelly, “What I can say about the Jan. 6 protesters who remain incarcerated or detained at this point, is that their constitutional rights and human rights are being violated by the Department of Justice and the Federal Government at this very moment.”

He went on to explain, “The law is clear that no type of punishment is appropriate for a detainee. Despite that numerous detainees are being held in solitary confinement for long periods of time. They’re being denied medical care. They’re taking beatings. They’re being denied sleep. They’re being psychologically, emotionally, and physically tortured on a regular basis.”

Greg Kelly asked, “Who’s beating them up?” McBride told Kelly, “I am alleging that the guards are beating them up. The staff are beating prisoners on a regular basis and have been doing so for a long time. This is no exaggeration.”

Kelly asked if McBride’s client, Richard Barnett, was beaten by guards. McBride responded that “he absolutely was. He was beaten. He was dragged. He was hog-tied. One time his pants dropped below his ankles exposing his private parts while he was taking a beating in front of a female officer. And he had to beg and plead to pull his pants up.”

Where are all the human rights groups? Why is this being permitted to happen in America? This is completely unacceptable. Not only have these Americans been hunted down and arrested by the corrupt FBI for the crime of being present on Jan. 6 and entering the Capitol building, but they’re also being literally tortured and abused.

America is heading down a very dangerous path and Nancy Pelosi’s committee to investigate the Jan. 6 “insurrection” is sure to make things much, much worse. Thankfully, she showed her hand when she rejected the inclusion of House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s picks of Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Jim Banks (R-IN).

Republicans need to conduct their own investigation into the Jan. 6 events as well as the treatment of those hunted down and arrested by the FBI. America deserves to know the truth and these Americans deserve their freedom.

January 6th Capitol protester Ryan Samsel was “severely beaten” by DC correctional officers and is now “blind in one eye” and “has a skull fracture” and a “detached retina,” according to his attorney.

Samsel was also allegedly subjected to vicious racial abuse by “minority” officers, one of which told him, “I hate all white people and your honky religion.”

Samsel’s story is just one of many detailing vicious torture and abuse being meted out to Capitol protesters who have been detained in some cases for nearly three months.

From Politico, “Capitol riot defendant alleges beating by jail guards”:

“Tensions are running high between guards and inmates at a D.C. jail housing many of the defendants in Jan. 6 cases, with at least one of those prisoners alleging that he was brutally beaten by correctional officers.”

For weeks, Capitol riot defendants being held in Washington have complained that they are locked in their cells with virtually no human contact for 23 hours a day. But a startling, graphic account offered publicly in court on Tuesday by one such inmate, Ronald Sandlin, went further: alleging that guards have subjected those charged in the Jan. 6 events to violence, threats and verbal harassment.

“Myself and others involved in the Jan. 6 incident are scared for their lives, not from each other but from correctional officers,” Sandlin said during a bail hearing conducted by video before U.S. District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich. “I don’t understand how this is remotely acceptable,” he added, saying he was being subjected to “mental torture.”

In an unusual direct plea to the judge, Sandlin said another Capitol riot defendant, Ryan Samsel, “was severely beaten by correctional officers, [is now] blind in one eye, has a skull fracture and detached retina.”

Levin’s monologue:

Former Delaware Republican US Senate candidate Lauren Witzke on Monday released an interview with veteran Nick Ochs discussing how he’s facing 20 years in prison for entering the Capitol to cover the protest as a journalist:

As I reported last week, peaceful Jan 6 Capitol protester Paul Allard Hodgkins was maliciously overcharged by the feds with “obstructing an official proceeding of Congress” and faced 20 years in prison for the crime of taking a selfie on the Senate floor with others as they “cheered and said prayers.”

Hodgkins only spent 15 minutes inside “the people’s house” but after being threatened with two decades in prison, he accepted a plea deal leaving him facing some “15 to 21 months [in prison] under federal guidelines.”

The Daily Mail reported earlier this month that Jan 6 protesters are being held in “Guantanamo Bay for American citizens”:

“The suspects are held in solitary confinement in cells the ‘size of a walk-in closets’ for up 24 hours a day and treated as ‘domestic terrorists’ by jail guards after several law- enforcement officers were injured and killed during the January 6 violence at the Capitol, lawyer Joseph McBride said.

McBride, who represents Richard ‘Bigo’ Barnett, 60, of Arkansas – the man known for putting his feet up on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s desk – claims that the guards are ‘roughing up’ the siege suspects to show solidarity with law enforcement who protected the Capitol.

‘The DC Central Detention Facility has become Guantanamo Bay for American Citizens,’ McBride told

‘In the eyes of the Federal Government, the 2021 Trump supporter is the 2001 religious Muslim. This is demonstrated by the fact that Trump Supporters, typecast as extremists, are being illegally detained prior to the United States Government.’

Detainees are being racially abused by majority-black DC prison guards with a chip on their shoulder against “the largely white defendants.”

“For weeks, Capitol riot defendants being held in Washington have complained that they are locked in their cells with virtually no human contact for 23 hours a day. But a startling, graphic account publicly in court on Tuesday by one such inmate, Ronald Sandlin, went further:

“Myself and others involved in the Jan. 6 incident are scared for their lives, not from each other but correctional officers,” Sandlin said during a bail hearing conducted by video before US District Court Judge Dabney Friedrich.

Sandlin also described racial tension between minority guards and the large white defendants, some of whom have been publicly sued of membership in or association with white supremacist groups.

Sandlin said guards tackled “to the ground” one high-profile prisoner, Richard Barnett, 60, who was photographed with his boot up on a desk in Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. Sandlin said one of the guards declared, “I hate all white people and your honky religion.”

Most Republicans are looking the other way and allowing this vicious political persecution to take place.
